Chronophotography - Chris Hill

  1. It is interesting how in both of these pieces, the background moves- as well as the figures. I think it is effective in the first one because of the graffiti. The graffiti layers on top of itself gives a sense of energy and liveliness to the picture. In the second image, the tree's curves and lines are emphasized by the layer.

  2. The circles of light that come through the second picture are really beautiful. I also like how these layers of trees overwhelm the picture and make it feel like they are moving.

  3. I am not convinced that the first picture wouldn't be better with a tripod. If you don't see the movement on the side, which is not the focus, then it just looks blurry. The different backgrounds works in the second picture, but to a degree the person seems unnecessary. The light through the trees is nice looking, while the person is distracting.

  4. I like the layering of the graffiti. While it makes it harder to read it gives it a sense of movement. It kind of looks like it is coming of the wall.

  5. My first impression was that the layering makes the graffiti appear three dimensional causing it to really jump out at the viewer. I almost missed the fact that he was moving down the side of the slope. The little bubbles of light are very impressive in the second photo.
