This is an interesting photo. I really enjoy seeing the different positions of the people here, and I am curious if I am seeing four different people or one person at four different times. Either way, the expression of time is shown.
I also like this photo because it reminds me of a particular shot in the film, "Koyaanisqatsi." If you haven't seen it, I recommend a viewing from the Library [cause knowledge is power!] or Rentertainment. There is a long sequence in there known in the chapters as "The Grid" that features people playing arcade games in fast motion. [ If you want to see exactly where I'm looking at it is at about 6:33 in this clip : youtube.com/watch?v=me04BWqr_Xo ] Whether you had intended it or not, it is interesting to interpret this photo as a sort of modern, still version of that.
This image shows time elapsed effectively to me by having the television set much bolder than the ghostly figures that are in various positions around it. It depicts the different ways in which people fill their time with the television (whether it be by playing video games or lounging on the sofa and relaxing). I think it is very interesting that the television is showing very psychedelic imagery because it seems as if it is almost hypnotizing its viewers.
I think my favorite part is the tv because of all the video games screens layered together. Makes it look wacky and crazy. Plus I starred at it for a while and tried to figure out what games are present. I see a bit of Guitar Hero but that's about it.
what struck me about this photo was that the movement was of multiple people rather than of this one guy playing video games. I clicked on this picture expecting to see the movement of on person but instead saw the hint of many people. I am curious to hear how the artist accomplished this and if photoshop was used or not because it seems like this could be captured purely by extending the exposure on the camera.
This is a nice image that goes well with the image we were working with during class. It is always interesting to see the amount of movement that occurs within one's room, in a private space where there's not necessarily too much movement in a small space.
